To me, from an outsiders point of view (I haven't played CS since.lord.13 years ago when I was back in college?), that is what it appears to be happening, without any kind of inside knowledge. It installs a precompiled kernel extension (32 or 64 bits depending on your system) that updates the Turbo Boost MSR register, so It will ask for your admin password when using it.

What it honestly sounds like, is that each time it starts a match (a match meaning however many 'rounds' it is until 1 side wins), it appends the value to whatever is already there, so as each match goes on, it just keeps adding more and more to the latency adjustment until it's so far off that you get into those extreme situations that you describe. Turbo Boost Switcher is a little application for Mac computers that allows to enable and/or disable the Turbo Boost feature. The only way to really solve the problem might be to restart the game every 3 or 4 'matches', in order to reset the value to it's minimum again.

Knowing how CS:GO works, that's not true either.Īs far as the original users issue.I think the only way to overcome the issue is to force the CPU to run at it's max speed with all cores active.īut if the game really is as badly coded as it seems, that may not even solve the problem. Going by what I'm seeing.that's not entirely true.
